A Preview of Collection Manager™

In the image below, the left shows how the library’s subject profiles or complete subject thesaurus—Blackwell Subject Thesaurus, the Library of Congress Classification System, or the National Library of Medicine Thesaurus—can be browsed for newly published titles.

Blackwell Collection Manager allows the librarian to interact with a subject thesaurus and or library subject profile. Action icons reveal at a glance the actions that Blackwell has taken on behalf of the library. Navigation icons can be used to expand or collapse specific sections of the thesaurus and Profile. Information icons allow the librarian to bring up specific information about the subjects.

The right side of the image shows titles associated with subjects selected on the left. Each title is followed by a set of links that allow the librarian to obtain additional information about the title, including bibliographic and subject profiling information, why a specific action was taken, information about alternative editions available, tables of contents, and MARC record.
