Library System Interfaces

Below Blackwell describes the EDI messaging and MARC services supported by Blackwell that interface with the capabilities of library systems.

To help you streamline your selecting and ordering workflows Blackwell offers Collection Manager (CM) export records. These are brief US MaRC format records containing essential bibliographic data elements plus embedded order data (e.g., fund, price, etc.) needed to create orders on many library systems. You’ll also find information on Blackwell’s Time-of-order WorldCat Cataloging Partners records which are also available through the record export process on Collection Manager, and loadable for creation of library system orders. A full range of EDI messaging is available from ordering to status reports to invoices. At time of invoice, Blackwell also provides MARC records through its MARC With Books service or through the OCLC WorldCat Cataloging Partners program. In both cases, records can carry book invoicing data used by some library systems during receiving. Blackwell’s Tables of Contents Enrichment service is also covered.

Find your library system below and get details about electronic interfaces that Blackwell and the library system support. If you have questions, please contact our experts at TECHSERV@BLACKWELL.COM. We just need to know your name, your institution, and the name of your ILS software product to answer you effectively.
