This new feature in Collection Manager allows you to review title lists, such as current Blackwell special offers, our top-selling titles, and core titles in a given subject. We also feature literary prize and award winners, books reviewed by New York Times Book Review, Science Magazine and other sources. We continually add new lists.
Blackwell selection lists easily work into your normal workflow by allowing you to review these specific titles with your own order and approval activity, as well as, providing an easy way for you to request, order, or export titles—all within Collection Manager.
Blackwell’s can receive orders from you through a variety of integrated library systems, most electronic acquisitions systems, email, fax, and mail. Blackwell also provides direct online ordering capabilities through our free online workflow support system, Collection Manager. Collection Manager gives you immediate access to the information you need for effective collection development and acquisitions.
We know how important it is to keep your records as up-to-date as possible. For all orders, you have the option to request a confirmation status report. If we do not receive a title from the supplier within the expected time frame, we initiate a claim. As soon as we receive the updated information, it is passed on to you. If we are unable to fill an order within your specified date range, we will cancel it and promptly send you notification. At this point you may request that Blackwell Alternative Source Department (see Alternate Source Fulfillment section) research your order and provide any available procurement options.
In most cases, Blackwell ships to libraries on a weekly basis. However, our expert staff can work with you to create an individualized shipping schedule to match your needs. Accompanying shipments are invoices and/or packing slips created to your specifications. You may also request a monthly consolidated invoice or a separate invoice for each box shipped or a dollar limit for each shipment. Invoicing options include:

Our super rush service provides expedited treatment of the books you need urgently. You will receive a status report within 24 hours of an order being placed. Standard Super Rush delivery is 2nd day air within North America, but we can accommodate other shipping options at your request.
If we experience a substantial delay in obtaining a copy of a firm order title from traditional vendors, our Alternate Source Department, once authorized to act as your agent, will attempt to locate a copy through other procurement channels. Blackwell will verify what condition and price range is acceptable, and we will present you with available options.
Upon request, any title that is reported as out-of-print (OP) or out-of-stock indefinitely (OSI) is passed to our Out-of-Print Department. Our OP Department will then contact you with available options to obtain the OP or OSI title.
Blackwell also has an automatic search service available. If you would like all OP or OSI titles in your firm order to automatically transfer to our OP Department please contact your Regional Sales Manager or Customer Service for more information.
