It can be a full-time job keeping up with all the publishers out there and finding the new titles your library needs to build a first class collection. Let Blackwell serve as the central contact point for you in your dealings with the publishers. With our free eNotes service, we notify you immediately about new titles that fit your library’s subject profile.
Blackwell eNotes enable libraries to receive–automatically and upon publication–announcements describing new books in areas of designated interest. They announce the availability of appropriate new books, and can serve as order slips for titles selected for acquisition.
If you are interested in receiving email notification about new titles in specific subject areas, Blackwell Book Services can help by providing you with new title email announcements that fit your library’s collection development needs.
For a detailed and focused subject profile, contact your Blackwell Regional Sales Manager and/or a New Titles Account Coordinator. They will work with you on a one to one basis to create a more fine-tuned profile.
Not sure who your Regional Sales Manager is - call us at 800.547.6426 and we will put you in touch with the appropriate sales manager or subject profile coordinator for your region.
Because pre-publication ordering ensures timely treatment, our new title buyers select from publishers’ catalogs and book information sheets several months in advance of publication. When a book is received, our bibliographic editors verify the initial profile with a book-in-hand treatment. Your receipt of an announcement guarantees that the book has been published and is available. Timely notification is especially important because of the shortened print runs for many scholarly monographs.
Blackwell New Titles Announcement Service provides comprehensive coverage of US and Canadian academic publishing. In addition, through a comparable program supported by our affiliate in England, B. H. Blackwell, we are able to offer libraries complete coverage of English-language publishing. Our program covers over 35,000 titles each year, including more than 8,000 titles issued by university presses.
Blackwell eNotes can be delivered as a file attachment via email, as text within an email or in a file delivered within Collection Manager™. We offer a variety of formats for your convenience, and any format can be downloaded into a PDA for portability and easy access. Format options include Portable Document Format (.PDF), Plain Text and Rich Text or HTML – for using eNotes on library websites to announce new book arrivals. If you need to sort records, Excel format eNotes are available. To create printer-friendly reports, opt for the Adobe format and choose between the brief citation for three title records per page or the enhanced citation for two titles per page .
