Our Retrospective Collection Development Service can augment your library’s resources with an innovative approach that combines features from our New Title Service and Firm Order programs.
At the center of our Retrospective Collection Development Service is a database of over two million titles drawn from our New Titles Service. All information has been verified from our book-in-hand edits, and every book has been individually assigned subject and non-subject codes.
This database may be accessed retrospectively using any combination of subject and non-subject terms. Moreover, selection can be limited by imprint year or by any range of dates from January 1, 1970 to the present. Your profile of interests can be drafted as broadly or narrowly as you wish. You might, for example, want a list of all university press publications since 1985; or, you might have the far more specific requirement of all psychology titles published in the English language since 1990 that are suitable for an undergraduate collection.
Titles identified from the match between your profile of interests and our database can be displayed on one of two formats:
If your collection is in machine-readable form, we can match the results of our search against your holdings to eliminate duplication, significantly reducing pre-order searching. This service is limited to larger projects.
Retrospective Collection Development Service is free of charge on the understanding that subsequent orders are placed with Blackwell.
